Auld Lang Syne: Cat and Mouse
A downloadable fangame for Windows
Auld Lang Syne: Cat and Mouse is a visual novel made in RPG Maker VX Ace.
It's a Granblue Fantasy fangame about two Zodiacs of many years in the past.
You don't need to know much about Granblue Fantasy, only that its setting is a world of floating islands with its own fantasy races, and that there's a group of characters inspired on the Chinese Zodiac/the Twelve Divine Generals.
With the exception of the minor NPCs and Dormouse, it's all original characters and story.
STORY
The story follows Bidala, the only priestess of the Cat Shrine. On a day like any other, she meets a strange visitor who claims to be the owner of her shrine... the Rat Shrine.
Who is telling the truth, the cat or the rat?
Somehow, they will have to figure it out...
FEATURES
A short story in a Granblue event format, battle included!
Original art and redrawn official art from the game... Even the classic Granblue NPC sprites and UI have been redrawn!
The game itself is free, but for a small price (3€), you can also take home a digital 21-page booklet of art and development notes!
(Note: All the music and sound resource credits are written in the instruction manual file and the credits roll inside the game itself.)
KNOWN ISSUES
When reloading a save in the middle of a scene, the background sometimes disappears, but it shouldn't affect the rest of the scene itself.
Some battle effects may be a little bit buggy.
Let me know if you find any other issues!
I hope you enjoy this little story!

Very enjoyable story, it feels extremely in-line with Granblue both narratively and with all the little aesthetic touches.
Thank you so much for playing!! I'm really glad I was able to capture the Granblue feel in it :')
I was so engrossed to the story that I forgot I'm playing your fan game, this is so good... The transition to the battle is a nice touch too, sooo good!
Thank you so much for playing it!!! I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed the story, especially if it made you forget it was a fan game :'D
